Keep the Sign, Lose the Old Lighting
An LED sign retrofit in Aiken gives a good sign a second run. The cabinet or letters stay on your building. The old neon or fluorescent lighting comes out, modern LEDs go in, and you get better brightness and lower energy costs without paying for a whole new sign.
This suits the owner with a sign that still looks right in daylight and could be brighter at night, and the property manager with a lit sign that keeps needing attention. LED-lit signs are energy-efficient and low-maintenance, which is why the swap makes sense. You already paid for the cabinet, the faces and the letters, and a retrofit lets them keep working for you.
Neon and Fluorescent Signs Ready for LEDs
We retrofit the signs that carry older lighting:
- Cabinet and lightbox signs running on fluorescent lighting.
- Channel letters ready for new LED lighting.
- Old neon signs you want to keep but light a modern way.
- Signs with burnt-out LEDs, handled alongside our sign repair and maintenance.
A retrofit comes down to three parts: LED modules, the drivers or power supplies that feed them, and the wiring between. Electric signs have their own safety standard, UL 48, and LED efficiency lets large signs run within Class 2 limits. If your faces or copy panels are looking tired while we are up there, we can update those on the same job.
How a Retrofit Runs
- We look at the sign. We check what is lit, how it is powered and how we will reach it.
- We tell you what it needs. You get a free quote and a straight answer on whether a retrofit is the right call.
- We swap the lighting. Out comes the old lighting, in go the LEDs, and we wire it up.
- We check it lit. Your sign gets switched on so you can see the result.
If your sign needs to come down for the work, our installation crew takes care of it.
Your Retrofit Quote, Free and Specific
Your quote is free and comes with no obligation. The size of the sign, the number of letters or faces, the lighting it has now, electrical access and lift access are what shape the job. A single cabinet within easy reach is a smaller job than a long run of letters high on a wall, so we look at the sign first and quote what it actually needs. Our sign cost guide covers general planning figures, and the channel letter cost guide goes deeper on lit letters.
Bright After Dark, Easy on the Neighbors
A brighter sign still has to play by local rules. In the City of Aiken, illuminated signs must be shielded so glare does not affect residential areas or traffic, and flashing or pulsating signs are prohibited. Aiken County’s code bars illuminated signs from shining directly on abutting properties. We keep that in mind when we plan new lighting, so your sign is bright where you want it.
A permit or review may be required for electrical work on a sign, so confirm with City of Aiken planning or Aiken County Planning and Development, and we handle the paperwork on most exterior jobs. We serve businesses in Aiken, Graniteville, Augusta and the surrounding towns.
