An Owner-Run Shop Just Across the River
Hiring a sign company in Augusta, GA should mean knowing exactly who is building your sign. The Aiken Sign Co. is a local, independent shop, not a franchise or a national chain. Chris Wade owns it, and he and his crew design it, build it and install it. Elizabeth G. wrote on Google that “the owner was very accommodating with getting me estimates and helping me decide what I wanted.”
We are based in Aiken, about 20 miles up U.S. Routes 1 and 78, and we cross the river for this work. You do not have to drive to us. We bring the shop to you, with measurements, design and installation done on-site, and your proof comes first, ahead of any production. Whether you need commercial signage for a new location or business signage refreshed on an old one, every job gets the same care, from custom signs to a single decal.
Every photo on our work page is a real job, and every word on our reviews page is what a real customer wrote on Google. That is the way to judge any shop, and we are glad to be judged on it.
Wraps and Fleets That Work the Whole City
Augusta covers a lot of road, and a good vehicle wrap turns those miles into advertising. The Bobby Jones Expressway rings the south side, Walton Way runs 6.9 miles to the Medical District and downtown, and Fort Gordon sits southwest of the city in Richmond County. A work truck that covers that ground puts your name and number in front of all of it.
We do full wraps, partial wraps, lettering and decals. Running more than one vehicle? Fleet graphics give every truck and van the same look, whether you have a single vehicle or a full yard.
Storefronts From Broad Street to Wrightsboro Road
About half of Broad Street’s 4.2 miles runs through downtown, past the Augusta Convention Center, Bell Auditorium and the Morris Museum of Art. Wrightsboro Road serves Augusta Mall, Daniel Field and Paine College on its way into the central city. Those are two very different streets, and a storefront sign should be drawn for the one you are on.
Out on Washington Road, drivers need to find you before they reach your entrance. A monument sign marks the property from the road. Freestanding limits in Augusta vary by zone, with examples in the code of 100 square feet and 20 feet in B-1, and 200 square feet and 30 feet in B-2, LI and HI, plus a 10 foot right-of-way setback. Confirm the numbers for your lot before you fall in love with a size.
Room Signs Around the Medical District
The Medical District sits between downtown and Summerville, bounded by Walton Way, R.A. Dent Boulevard, Heard Avenue and Wrightsboro Road. For an office in or near it, our ADA signs come with tactile lettering and braille, made to the ADA standard. What each room needs is for your architect or code office to confirm.
Already Bought a Sign? We Will Hang It
Maybe your sign came from somewhere else and you just need it up, level and solid. We install what we build, and we also install signs made elsewhere. Our sign installation service covers buildings, monuments and storefronts.
Georgia Paperwork, Handled
Augusta-Richmond County requires a sign permit before a sign is put up, installed or materially altered, with listed exemptions. Applications take a sign plan and a fee, and each permitted sign gets a decal. Temporary signs may stay “a maximum of thirty (30) days per calendar quarter.”
A permit or review may be required, so confirm with the Augusta Planning and Development Department. That paperwork is ours on most exterior jobs, as our sign permits page shows. Past the county line, we also serve Martinez and Evans, and North Augusta sits right across the water.
